How it works
Duty is calculated in marginal bands similar to other Australian states. Foreign buyers pay an additional 7% Foreign Ownership Surcharge on top of the standard duty.
Calculation methodology
This calculator applies RevenueSA's published conveyance duty bands to the purchase price, adding the 7% foreign ownership surcharge where applicable.
Exemptions & reliefs
South Australia's first home buyer relief is limited to new homes and vacant land under specific price caps, rather than a broad concession on established homes, so it is not modelled here.
