How it works

The rate is a flat percentage of the property's agreement value or ready reckoner rate, whichever is higher, applied uniformly regardless of property type.

Calculation methodology

This calculator applies Maharashtra's current male/female/joint-ownership stamp duty rate to your property value, then adds the flat registration fee.

Exemptions & reliefs

Female buyers receive a 1-percentage-point concession on the stamp duty rate.

Recent rule changes

Rates reflect the schedule in effect from April 2024, including the metro cess applicable in Mumbai and other urban centres.

Glossary

Ready reckoner rate: the government's official minimum valuation for stamp duty purposes in Maharashtra.
